From the “Inevitable” Collection
Constructed from thousands of scraped LED fragments, Scrap by Jim transforms industrial waste into a striking meditation on inevitability—death, decay, and the remnants of human consumption. Under black light, the central skull radiates in neon intensity, emerging from layers of texture and industrial residue with an almost spectral presence.
The work exists between attraction and discomfort, confronting the viewer with two unavoidable realities: mortality and the growing accumulation of industrial waste left behind by modern society. Through vibrant fluorescent paint, raw textures, and recycled technological materials, the piece creates a visual tension between beauty and destruction.
Part of the Inevitable collection, Scrap by Jim reflects the Serjirism philosophy of transforming discarded industrial materials into immersive contemporary art, giving new life and meaning to what was once abandoned.
