Rotating the 3/4" shaft from both sides will make the front slide mechanism move in a continuous rectangular shape movement. See the last four pictures in sequence. 1" to front, 2-1/4" to left, 1" to back, 2-1/4" to right, or in reverse sequence back-left-front-right
