A fully automatic, electric fusion instrument designed to prepare high-quality glass disks (fusion beads) for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis. It features a dual-position furnace that allows laboratory operators to process two samples either simultaneously or independently.

How the Fusion Process Works:

  • Loading: the operator places a platinum/gold crucible containing the sample-flux mixture into the holder, with a casting mold set below it
  • Execution: the user selects a recipe from the pre-defined method library and hits start
  • Agitation: the internal mechanism ramps up the heat, melting and mixing the sample with automated crucible agitation; releasing agents are automatically injected during the melt phase
  • Pouring & Cooling: the molten liquid pours into the casting dish inside the protected chamber, where a multi-speed integrated fan quenches the sample, forming a flat glass bead ready for XRF
