The Eaton WL-35338 is a high-voltage Vacuum Interrupter (VI). This is the "heart" of a medium-voltage circuit breaker or load break switch. It is a hermetically sealed ceramic and metal cylinder that contains a pair of electrical contacts in a high vacuum. Because the contacts are in a vacuum, the electrical arc is extinguished almost instantly when the breaker opens. These are high-precision safety components used in power distribution, often found inside Eaton/Cutler-Hammer VCP-W or W-VAC circuit breakers.
